1. Who we are

Pace Online (Pty) Ltd ("Pace Online", "we", "us") is an African Software OEM based in Midrand, South Africa. We build our own software products, and we build custom software for the customers, partners and investors who commission us.

We are the responsible party (data controller) for the personal information processed through this website. Our registered details appear at the end of this policy.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through paceonline.co.za. Our individual software products — the Stevedoring App, TrueTally, SunSeek, Uniflo, Govermate and DigiCargo — are governed by their own privacy notices.

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Where we serve users in the European Union, we also align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Information we collect

We collect only what we need.

• Information you give us. When you use a contact or enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, the subject of your message and the message itself.
• Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, we record limited technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the time of the visit — through cookies and server logs.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal information through this website.

4. How we use your information

• To answer your enquiries and prepare quotes.
• To operate, secure and improve this website.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

5. Our lawful basis for processing

We process personal information on one or more of these bases, as recognised under POPIA section 11 and GDPR Article 6:

• your consent;
• the performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before a contract;
• our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business; and
• compliance with a legal obligation.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to make the site work and to understand how it is used. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the consent banner, and you can manage cookies in your browser settings at any time. Declining non-essential cookies will not stop you from using the site.

7. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run this website and our infrastructure, under contracts that require them to protect it. These include our cloud and hosting providers — Google Cloud Platform, Firebase, Railway and Cloudflare. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

8. Cross-border transfers

Some of our service providers process data on servers outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives a level of protection consistent with POPIA and, where relevant, the GDPR.

9. How we protect your information

We apply industry-standard safeguards: authenticated access, role-based access control, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and security practices aligned with ISO 27001. No system is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

10. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or for as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

11. Your rights

Under POPIA and the GDPR, you may:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or delete it;
• object to processing or withdraw your consent;
• ask us to restrict processing, or to provide your data in a portable format; and
• lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@paceonline.co.za. In South Africa you may also complain to the Information Regulator. [Confirm the Information Regulator's current contact details before publishing.]

12. Children

This website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
